Welcome to the World of Laura B.  As you can probably figure out, I am Laura B.  My World is in the Charlotte, NC area and consists of my hubby, K, daughter A, who is 9, and son L who is 4.  I’m also mommy to 2 dogs, Mayo (as in Cinco de Mayo, not the condiment) and Scooby, 1 cat named Willow and various fish that remain nameless.  I also have a grown stepson and daughter-in-law and 2 adorable grandsons who call me Mimi.

Why did I start blogging?  First I have to tell you about my Old World.  Less than 2 years ago I was a childless wife working as a project manager in the Corporate World.  K and I were hoping to adopt because I was complaining that my life had no purpose and I knew that my purpose was to be a patient, nurturing and perfect mother (I know, Fantasy World).

Fast forward to my New World….A and L came to live with us and are now officially a part of this family.  Yeah!!  I was kicked out of the Corporate World, rather rudely, and decided to never go back.  My New World does have purpose now, I was meant to be a mother, and I love my kids with all my heart, but I’m not the patient, nurturing and perfect mom I thought I would be.  Welcome Real World!  How come nobody told me how hard it is!?

As part of my New World, I found that I needed a creative outlet (and a part-time job that I’m still searching for) and a blog seemed like a perfect idea!    Here I can share My World; all the imperfectness of it.  Keeping it real with creativity, life, frugal living, recipes, ideas, tips and more.
