  1. Hello! Growing up in Australia – and having a penchant for droughts – I’ve always tried to be water wise. Great tips, especially about veggies and teeth etc such simple things to do. P.S Have you got my two emails I sent you about the song?

  2. Great tips! I’m happy to say that our family does all those things. I’ve never understood why people would ever leave the water running when brushing their teeth.

  3. We definitely turn off the water while brushing, but I’m also considering turning it off when washing hands since you’re supposed to wash them for like 30 sec right? Gotta install low-flow faucets/etc in our permanent house. And not just insulating pipes, but the water heater itself too, can save $$. Actually, EPA says that using the dishwasher saves more water than hand-washing. We tried it for a month, and our bill went down significantly in water-use. I was shocked.

    • I, too, was surprised that the dishwasher used less water than hand washing. Once I learned that I gave up hand washing all together (except for certain items). I need to try to get A to turn off the water while washing her hands because she suds them up for a loooong time.
