Scooby and Mayo were both older dogs when I adopted them, 8 and 5, respectively.
#2, definitely! Jasper has sooo much energy he can’t concentrate on 1 thing
. Luckily with persistent training, he’s gotten much better. Before buying Jasper, we had considered adopting a dog but couldn’t find a potty trained ones. Are older dogs usually potty trained? Maybe when J is older and we’re done having kids, we’d consider adoption an older dog. Did the ASPCA sponsor your post 
Both of my dogs were potty trained when I got them. In fact, Mayo was trained very well. She goes to the door and hits it with her paw to go out. I wish I had a post sponsor but just got the info from them – that’s it.
